Love Island star Camilla Thurlow has admitted that she almost ruined fiance Jamie Jewitt’s romantic proposal in February.
The couple, who welcomed baby daughter Nell last year, met on the hit ITV show back in 2017 after Jamie landed in the villa as a bombshell arrival.
Camilla appeared on Lorraine to speak about life with Jamie and Nell, as well as him popping the question last month.
Lorraine gushed: “It’s really lovely that a true love story came out of that show. It was the real deal! And of course, baby Nell – she played her part, didn’t she, in the proposal.”
Camilla replied: “Yes she did. Jamie got her a baby grow that said, ‘Mummy, will you marry daddy?’ But I nearly ruined the whole thing because I went to change her before dinner and he was like, ‘No, no! I’ll do that, don’t worry!’
“And so I would have found out a little bit too early but he managed to save it.”
Lorraine responded: “Do you know what? That’s one of the loveliest proposals I’ve ever heard! Never mind going to the Eiffel Tower and all that malarkey with diamond rings!
“All you want is your wee baby being part of it, it’s lovely!”
Camilla and Jamie began to date after leaving Love Island and together began doing humanitarian work, going on to launch Love Jamila, a sustainable beauty and lifestyle range.
In 2019, they moved into their first home together with dogs Audrey and Gus and a year later, delighted fans as they announced that they were expecting their first child.
Camilla gave birth to their daughter Nell in October 2020, with the Love Island star sharing a photo of herself cradling Nell.
She wrote: “Nell Sophia Jewitt, 4:32am, 27th October, 6lb 5oz. There may be a thousand new photos on my camera roll, but none of them could ever do justice to the way you have lit up our lives.”
